          Welcome to the website of the Cecil County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 2. Our lodge was formed in 1971 and our members are active and retired police officers from the Cecil County Sheriff's Office, North East, Rising Sun, and Perryville Police Departments. We represent the interests of law enforcement in our local, county, and state governments as well as to the community we serve. With the cooperation of our elected officials, we have been successful in passing legislation ending the practice of deputies serving at the pleasure of a Cecil County Sheriff and granting them due process in accordance to law. Our members have testified before the Maryland General Assembly for public safety bills, such as stiffer drunk driving penalties and tougher child abuse laws. We have gained extensive credibility in those areas.

          The FOP donates significant funds every year to charitable organizations in our local communities and our members are active in numerous community service groups, such as the March of Dimes, the Boys & Girls Club, and the Special Olympics, to name but a few. We have a limited ability to assist law enforcement officers and their families in the event of a line of duty death or injury.

          Our financial resources come from fundraising events held throughout the year, not the least of which is our annual Crab Feast, usually held in August and now in our 6th year. This is a huge event attended by a sell-out crowd of over 400 people and generously contributed to by many local businesses, Hollywood celebrities and even a former U.S. President. More than once, it has been described as THE event in Cecil County!
